Meet the College Connectors

AmbassadorsMatching rugby shirts by day, suit jackets by night. These are the connectors—the faces of Gordon College.

Meet the Student Ambassadors, a group of 29 Gordon students selected to represent the College and connect the many constituents within its wider web. Together they work to involve and connect Gordon students, alumni and friends, while encouraging community and College pride. Ambassadors embody the excellence of a Gordon education and showcase the impact that the College has made on their lives.

Ambassadors are able to access valuable networking opportunities, build community within a group of ambitious peers, and hone skills for professional development—like dinner etiquette and professional dress, courtesy of trainings hosted by Gordon College Career Services.

The Ambassadors are led by Ambassador Intern Sarah Henkels ’16 and four Core Ambassadors—Zach Daly ’18, Hannah Gilman ’18, Farnel Maxime ’17 and Isabelle Skillen ’18—under the supervision of Laurie Truschel, director of young alumni engagement.

Each Core Ambassador leads one of the four committees. Farnel Maxime oversees donor stewardship, including presidential event assistance and the annual Thank-a-Thon. Hannah Gilman oversees student philanthropy, spearheading efforts to raise funds for student scholarships and creating opportunities for students to engage in service on and off campus. Isabelle Skillen oversees alumni involvement, connecting with alumni about upcoming events and involving them in the lives of students. Zach Daly oversees admissions and prospective students, liaising between the Admissions Office and President’s Office to welcome visitors and assist with events.

All Ambassadors are involved in several on-campus events for a wide variety of constituents—including the NEXT Summit for secondary school leaders, the Celebration of Faithful Leadership for donors and friends of the College, Homecoming and Family Weekend, and Admissions open house days for prospective students and families. Select Ambassadors also represent Gordon at regional events in Texas, Chicago, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., California, Colorado and other places across the country.
