Real Presence in Orvieto
Every semester, a cohort of wide-eyed students travels to Orvieto, Italy, for an immersive four-month experience rich in beauty, culture, tradition and history. Together they create art, engage with the local community, pause for midday riposos, and treasure intentional time in their Wi-Fi-free living space. In the midst of it, a theme emerges: “My real presence was found in an ancient Italian town that was sculpted right from the mountain that it sits upon, and it is called Orvieto,” writes Theresa Sterling ’16. She and Miranda Fuchs ’15 catalogued their Gordon IN Orvieto semester in a series of stunning photos and reflections.
