Women’s Soccer Headed Back To The ‘Ship
After handing out a pair of early tournament upsets, Gordon Women’s Soccer has booked its ticket to the Commonwealth Coast Conference championship game for the second consecutive season and fourth time in five years.
Seeded No. 8 heading into the postseason, the Scots shocked top-seeded Roger Williams University in the quarterfinals on October 29 by tallying two goals in the final five minutes of play to take home a 2-1 win.
Then, in their semifinal matchup with No. 5 Curry College on November 1, the women once again used late-game heroics to get the job done, netting the game-winner in the 102nd minute to beat the Colonels, 1-0, and advance to Saturday’s title match at No. 2 Wentworth.
Against all odds, these women have earned some gritty wins this postseason and they’re not done yet.
