Bon Appétit Brings New Food Options to Gordon
Starting this summer, Gordon College will expand the variety and quality of food products served in our dining facilities through a partnership with Bon Appétit Management Company.
Founded in 1987, Bon Appétit works with private institutions around the country, including many well-known colleges in New England and peer schools in the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU). Their award-winning approach allows Gordon to enhance the breadth and depth of its offerings.
As part of the partnership, Gordon will introduce new all-you-can-eat dining plans in addition to the traditional cash options, a change that addresses consistent feedback from students, parents and visitors. In addition, Gordon will work with Bon Appétit to update and improve the food court and serving areas in Lane Student Center, and create a new outlet in the Bennett Athletic and Recreation Center (similar to the existing Bistro 255, but with a different focus).
Over the next month, the company will conduct focus groups and surveys with community members to gather input and fine-tune offerings. As they work to implement changes that will elevate the dining experience, Bon Appétit works with Gordon’s existing Dining Services operations and staff, and will continue to employ Gordon students. The employee discount will not change.
Bon Appétit shares Gordon’s commitment and passion for sustainability, fresh and locally-sourced food, and nutrition and wellness. They only serve seafood which meets the Seafood Watch sustainability guidelines and only serve humanely raised ground beef. Their food is cooked from scratch, and their “Farm to Fork” program ensures at least 20 percent of their ingredients are sourced directly from local, owner-operated farms.
This new partnership will be supported by a generous gift from longtime Gordon supporter Sherry Tupper who has a particular interest in this project.
As Gordon students, faculty and staff connect over shared meals or cups of coffee—bon appétit!
