In mid-November, the American Chemical Society (ACS) gave Gordon’s ACS student chapter an “outstanding” designation for the second year in a row, and a Green Chapter Award for the seventh year in a row. The awards recognize the chapter’s extensive educational outreach on the North Shore of Boston and in New York City.
The benefits to such a high-tech greenhouse are substantial in research, teaching and outreach,” Dr. Greg Keller (biology) says. “We can manipulate the smallest variables to see their effects on specific species of plants that may be valuable economically or ecologically.”
Dr. Evangeline Cornwell (biology) and Dr. Andrew Logemann (English language and literature) have been awarded two-year fellowships at Oxford for a conference around the topic of biotechnology and faith.
The 27th annual Christmas Gala celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Department of Music at Gordon. It was 50 years ago that Alton C. Bynum’s vision for the Department came to fruition.
