Career Services Launches New Recruitment Event: Business and STEM Fair
In addition to its annual internship and job fairs, Career Services is launching more focused events this year to allow students to network with professionals in their specific fields of interest.
Today’s Business and STEM Fair is the first of this initiative, which addresses an interest expressed by both students and visiting employers. The new fair will cater to students looking to go into accounting, finance and business administration, as well as those interested in biology, chemistry, mathematics, physics, engineering and computer science.
While this is just the pilot event, Aaron Hicks, internship coordinator and developer at Career Services, is hopeful that it will become a growing resource. “As this is the first year of the new event,” he says, “we anticipate that the employer list will expand in future years.” A sampling of this year’s employers includes:
Business:
- CapinCrouse LLP
- Concord Wealth Management
- KPMG
- New York Life
- Northwestern Mutual
- Robert Half
- Veracross
- Raytheon
STEM:
- Massachusetts General Hospital
- Raytheon
- Seaside Sustainability
- Veracross
The organizations attending will be recruiting primarily for jobs and internships beginning in May or June of 2018. Students are encouraged to attend in professional attire, and bring copies of their resumes.
The fair will be held on Wednesday, September 27 from 3–5:30 p.m. in the Ken Olsen Science Center Chairman’s Room. Networking for representatives, students, faculty and staff begins at 5 p.m.
