Gordon College Program Named Among Top in the Country for Preparing Future Elementary Teachers to Teach Math
The undergraduate elementary teacher preparation program at Gordon College has been named among the best in the nation when it comes to ensuring future elementary teachers have the essential content and skills they need to teach mathematics.
Lining the first floor hallway of KOSC is a series of paintings. At a glance, perhaps, it’s an odd place for art. But taking a moment to analyze the abstract swirls, lines and patterns, a viewer discovers a perfect picture of the liberal arts.
You might not expect a college math professor and students to be conducting research closely related to the 2016 presidential election, but that’s exactly what Dr. Karl-Dieter Crisman, Min-Sun “Sunny” Kim ’17, and Luke Cui ’19 are doing.
“There are some deep connections between the structure math seeks to uncover and the creation that God has given,” says Dr. Dick Stout, Professor of Mathematics.
This fall, new experts and scholars will join the Departments of Mathematics and Computer Science, Biblical Studies and Christian Ministries, and Psychology.
