How a First-Year’s Film Won National Acclaim: Mason Cummins ’27 on His Award-Winning Project 

Mason Cummins ’27 made a film for a Communications 101 class that won one of only 30 Awards of Excellence at the annual Broadcast Education Association Festival of Media Arts—the largest national contest of student film projects in the nation, despite the fact he was a first-year student in a 100-level class with an entry-level assignment.

Gordon’s Education Program Named Among Best in the Nation for Preparing Future Teachers to Teach Reading 

The program is among just 48 nationwide and is the only program in Massachusetts highlighted by NCTQ for going above and beyond the standards set by literacy experts for coverage of the most effective methods of reading instruction—often called the “science of reading.”

Four Gordon Students Receive Broadcast Education Association Awards

This marks the first time Gordon has placed in this top national college production competition, which draws over 1,500 entries each year from some of the biggest, most well-known media colleges from around the nation. 

Wright Award Winner Teaches “In Light of Eternity”

Gordon’s 2022 recipient of the Margaret C. Wright Memorial Award is Angie Epplett ’20, a teacher at Santiago Christian School in Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic.
